About me

Moein Ghaleh (b. 1996) is a multidisciplinary artist and designer whose practice moves between applied and fine arts. A graduate of Industrial Design from the University of Art in Tehran, he began his professional practice in graphic design in 2014, working across visual identity, logo design, motion graphics, and other forms of visual communication. His practice extends beyond graphic design into fashion and furniture, informed by an interest in the relationship between form, function, and artistic expression. In 2019, he founded the fashion label Rokh, taking on roles spanning fashion design and creative direction. Alongside his design practice, he works across fine art through sculpture, digital painting, and video art. Identity, particularly Iranian identity, is a recurring concern throughout his practice. Drawing on his Iranian cultural background and his training in industrial design, he considers the relationship between identity, context, and audience, seeking to understand the psychological and cultural dimensions of an audience as part of the creative process. Rather than positioning art and design as distinct disciplines, he approaches them as interconnected forms of inquiry, exploring the shifting relationship between form, function, and meaning. Grounded in his background in industrial design and further shaped by his engagement with fine arts at the University of Art, his practice moves fluidly across applied and fine arts disciplines. In 2023, he was admitted to the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) program at Parsons School of Design in New York with a $40,000 annual scholarship. Due to visa and travel restrictions affecting Iranian citizens, he was ultimately unable to undertake the program.
